An understatement when talking or even thinking about the college admissions process would be stressful. The task of composing a college admissions essay has a lot of weight riding on someone. If you are not understanding how any of this plays a role in getting accepted into college I will explain further. For the example, the students are the "passenger" who is boarding, the essay is like your "ticket" and college is like the "train" and the "ticket checker" are the administrator's, who qualify a student as getting accepted or not. The students need to catch that train to get where they need to be if not they need to find another way to reach their destination, but the ticket checker checks the tickets and see if it is the correct one for the train that they are boarding and they decide if it is or is not, they see if a student qualifies as getting accepted into the college or not.
Students have been attending school for 12 years in hopes that all those years of education that they will be able to qualify and be accepted into the university that they can specialize in for the career that they have chosen for themselves. Whether we tried our best, were mediocre or did not even try that is something we are accountable for. But the skills and the necessities' that we will need to be successful as we grow to become adults and as we start working in the fields of what we choose to be our careers that is something that needs to be reinforced or taught by the adults being our "teachers" in school. Yes, high school matters and what we do and how well we do in there weigh heavily on where we get accepted or where we even decide to apply, but our whole future is ahead of us the day we graduate from there and the first step to shaping how well we turn out in life is college. Growing up we can not really change how our upbringing is, but our future that is totally dependent on us. Having the drive and motivation is something that we can be influenced on by our peers and families, however, we decide what our goals are and we have to follow through with the plans we set and if things do not go according to the what we have in mind than it is up to us to conform to the changes to try and succeed in the end for our own well being.
The prompts that we choose from have to show us the best, by our writing the colleges should get to understand what we are looking to do with our knowledge and how we plan to exercise it at their college. Some of those that are given to us hold a deeper message than is being shown as we process what is being asked of us to compose in our essays. Socially speaking students with a better background have a great advantage in the process of getting accepted. Those better of financially have a greater advantage with help from outside sources to accomplishing their academic work, which include the admissions essay, getting help to pass the SAT's to be able to qualify for the universities they are interested in; which most likely are Ivy Leagues and just the advantage that their financial state hold in being influential in helping them being well off. Universities' look for well-rounded students who were very outstanding in their academic grades, sports, and the school activities who can fit in well in their university.
The persona is a very big key in the concept of the college admissions essay because how you choose to write your essay that is how you are going to be evaluated and seen as. When writing the admissions essay you feel as if it is less awkward writing it because you really do not know the person who is going to be reading it, it makes it easier to not let those barriers of knowing the person who is reading it stop you from expressing yourself fully. The only thing really stopping someone from writing as truthfully as they can is that in the end it is an essay that may change the views of the people reading it. College is process for many to be able to further their knowledge and to better their life, but not many have the luxury of attending.
